Plants for pigs feed are allowed to use poultry fat

March 2012 - Under new EU directives processing plants, which produce pigs feed are allowed to use poultry fat to replace vegetarian sup stock oil (soya, sunflower, corn) in processing mix for pigs. The new directives lead to significant savings for farmers, as poultry fat produced from the abattoir offals are much more cost effective than the highly priced the vegetable oil.
